In JC1, my Economics results were consistently U/S, and only did just enough during my Promotional Exams in order to move on to second year. I continued to fare poorly in JC2, only managing to score 34 marks (another U) for my Economics Mid Year Exams.

I joined Building Blocks under Ms Giam's Infusion class in July 2010, where my results started to take a turn for the better. Eventually I managed an E for the Prelims & an A for A’ Levels. After every lesson, without fail, Ms Giam would be there to provide individual/group consultation & even mark/give feedback on work that I had done on my own. As such, slowly, but surely, I began to understand the concepts and write more impressive essays. Also, I relied upon the BB magical tools, which made studying so much easier! Hence, the huge jump from a U to an A in about 5 months, with a lot of hard work of course, was possible!

My learning experience at Building Blocks was great as the way lessons were conducted changed my impression of how tuition at tuition centers worked. I have always thought that lessons would be boring and everyone would just be copying notes or doing essays. However, at building blocks, the lessons are interactive and fun. 

The classroom was often filled with laughter and joy. Ms Giam makes Economics so much easier to understand by using many examples to explain abstract concepts. Before I enrolled into Building Blocks, Economics to me was just about memorising and churning out notes during examinations. With Ms Giam's help, I was about to understand and apply the concepts into different situations. 

After I joined the lessons, I often found myself relating economic concepts to my life. Economics, to me, is no longer just a dry 'A' level subject. Furthermore, Ms Giam is always willing to stay back or arrive early to give consultation. Other than just teaching us the concepts, Ms Giam also taught us how to structure our essays and case study skills to help us apply our concepts and do well for our exams. Lessons conducted at Building Blocks are all-rounded and do not only focus on the conceptual part of Economics. 

I am very glad that my aunt introduced me to Building blocks as not only did my Economics grades improved tremendously, I have also made many friends there. In addition, the material provided by Building Blocks is also easy to read and understand. To me, reading Economics notes is no longer a chore, but it reinforces what I have learnt during Ms Giam's lessons. For the first time in my life, I really felt like I was studying Economics (Thanks to Building Blocks!). All in all, my learning journey at Building Blocks was a very pleasant one and I really enjoyed my lessons then. 

Before I came to Building Blocks, I frequently failed econs tests and was usually lost during lessons. So I came to BB hoping that my knowledge of econs would take a turn, and it did. 

BB is a combination of fun and learning. Econs was made simple and understandable through the clear notes and outlines. Every lesson started with a detailed overview of the specific topic, which served as effective quick revision notes. Also, the essay and case study practices facilitated the application of concepts into writing, especially when they were reviewed during the lesson so that important points were noted. The economic concepts were also broken down into clear and concise parts that made learning more efficient. BB also taught effective essay writing skills and answering techniques that were definitely responsible for the improvement in my performance in exams.  

Apart from the well-developed lesson plan, my teacher, Miss Linda Giam, played a pivotal role in the improvement of my understanding of econs. Miss Giam is a dedicated teacher who, despite her pregnancy at that time, placed a lot of time and effort into teaching us all that we needed to know and more. Furthermore, Miss Giam cared deeply for our learning and wellbeing; she took extra time out to explain questions and clarify doubts when necessary. Miss Giam also never failed to integrate fun into the lessons through her jovial character. 

Not only did Building Blocks help me reach a goal I once thought was impossible, it gave me an unforgettable learning experience. 

During my time at Building Blocks, I was constantly engaged with the teaching methods employed. Their depth of analysis and thorough understanding of the syllabus, on top of superior contextual knowledge, inspired me to perform in the recent A-levels. Without Dennis and his constant motivation and perseverance, the journey would have definitely been much more arduous. Thank you, Building Blocks.

Building Blocks has broken down the complexity of Economics into simple and manageable stepping stones for me to meet the rigors of the subject. Dennis has been very sharp in identifying my flaws so that I can quickly correct them in time for each examination.
